Alarm System Installation in Calgary

Professionally installed intrusion detection — with monitoring if you want it, and none of the lock-in if you don't.

OVERVIEW

Detection First, Contract Second

An alarm is worth having because it does something a camera cannot: it interrupts a break-in while it is happening rather than documenting one afterwards. The two work best installed together.

We install and program the system, zone it to your building, and hand it over working. If you want third-party monitoring we will set it up with a provider — but the equipment is yours, and you are not signing a multi-year contract to us in order to keep it running.

The design work is in the zoning. A system that nuisance-trips gets disarmed and stops protecting anything, so sensor placement around pets, heat vents, and busy interior routes matters as much as the hardware does.

DETECTION

What Detects What

Layering these is the point — perimeter sensors catch the entry, interior sensors catch anyone who got past them.

Door & Window Contacts

The perimeter layer. Triggers the moment an opening is breached, before anyone is inside the building.

Motion Detectors

Interior coverage on hallways and open areas. Pet-immune models available so a dog does not set the system off nightly.

Glass Break Sensors

Acoustic detection for large windows and patio doors, catching the entry method that bypasses a contact entirely.

MONITORING

Monitored or Self-Monitored

Both are legitimate choices. The difference is who responds at 3am when you are asleep or out of town.

Professionally Monitored

A monitoring centre receives the signal and dispatches according to your instructions.

  • Someone responds whether or not you see the alert
  • Usually required for commercial insurance discounts
  • Verified alarms get faster police response
  • Ongoing monthly fee to the monitoring provider
  • Works when your phone is off or out of service

Self-Monitored

The system alerts you directly and you decide what to do about it.

  • No monthly monitoring fee
  • Push notification straight to your phone
  • Response depends entirely on you seeing it
  • Fine for a shop, garage, or secondary property
  • Can be upgraded to monitored later without new hardware

Included in an Alarm Install

  • Site walkthrough and zone-by-zone sensor plan
  • Door, window, and overhead door contacts
  • Motion and glass break detector placement
  • Panel installation, programming, and zoning
  • Keypads at the doors you actually use
  • Cellular communicator, so a cut phone line is not a defeat
  • Third-party monitoring setup where you want it
  • Integration with cameras and smart home control

Common Questions

Not with us. We install and program the system and it is yours. If you want monitoring we will connect you with a provider and set it up, and that agreement is between you and them.

Not if the system is designed for them. Pet-immune motion detectors, correct mounting height, and careful aiming around cat shelves and stair landings handle it. Tell us about the animals at the walkthrough and we will zone around them.

They do different jobs. Cameras tell you what happened; an alarm makes noise and summons a response while it is still happening. Most break-ins end the moment a siren goes off, which is not something footage can do.

Frequently, yes. If the panel is a current model and the field wiring is intact, we can reprogram it, re-zone it, and move it to a new monitoring provider without replacing the hardware.
