Smart Home & Automation in Calgary
Lighting, blinds, climate, and scenes — unified into one app that actually gets used.
OVERVIEW
One System, Not Nine Apps
Most homes we walk into already have smart devices. A video doorbell from one brand, bulbs from another, a thermostat from a third, and a blind motor that only talks to its own remote. Each one works. None of them work together.
Automation is worth doing when it removes decisions rather than adding them. Blinds that close as the afternoon sun hits the west windows. Lights that come up gently at a set time instead of all at once. A single button by the back door that shuts the house down for the night.
We build that on a platform that holds everything in one place, wired where wiring makes it more reliable, and set up so a guest can still just turn a light on with a switch.

WHAT GETS AUTOMATED
The Four That Earn Their Keep
Lighting
Dimmable zones, scenes per room, and schedules that follow sunrise and sunset rather than a fixed clock.
Blinds & Shades
Motorized coverings on schedule or sun position. Also the single best thing you can do for a west-facing Calgary living room in July.
Climate
Smart thermostats and zone control tied to occupancy, so you are not heating an empty house.
Scenes & Control
Movie, morning, away, and goodnight built as single actions on a wall keypad, a phone, or a voice assistant.
Wired Beats Wireless for the Things You Touch Daily
Wireless is fine for a lamp. It is not fine for the switch by your front door. Anything you use every day — keypads, main-room lighting, blinds — we wire, so it responds instantly and keeps working when the WiFi does not.

Common Questions
Usually not. Most retrofits use existing switch boxes and neutral wiring. Blinds and keypads in new positions need a run pulled, which we do through existing cavities wherever possible.
A properly built system keeps running locally. Lights, switches, scenes, and schedules all work without internet — you just lose remote access from outside the house until it is back. Systems that depend entirely on the cloud are ones we avoid for exactly this reason.
That is the test we design against. Every automated light still has a physical switch that behaves the way anyone expects, and a house guest never needs an app to turn something on.
Often yes — most mainstream brands integrate. We audit what you have first and tell you which pieces carry forward and which are worth replacing to get everything under one system.
