Smart Office Automation in Calgary
Buildings that run themselves after hours, and cost less to run during them.
OVERVIEW
The Building Should Not Depend on the Last Person Out
In most offices, whether the lights are off overnight comes down to whoever happened to leave last. Same for the boardroom display, the blinds, and the temperature over a long weekend.
Automation takes that off people. Lighting on occupancy and schedule, blinds that track the sun so the west side of the floor is not unusable at 4pm, and setbacks that engage the moment the building empties.
The return is measurable and it shows up on the utility bill, but the reason most clients keep expanding it is simpler: the building stops needing to be managed.

WHAT WE AUTOMATE
Where the Savings Actually Come From
Occupancy-Based Lighting
Sensors per zone rather than per floor, so an empty half of the office is dark while someone works late on the other side. The single highest-return item in most retrofits.
Automated Blinds
Shades that respond to sun position, cutting solar gain in summer and glare on screens year round. Reduces cooling load and stops staff working with the blinds permanently shut.
Scheduled Setbacks
Heating, cooling, and lighting that step down automatically outside business hours and on stat holidays, without anybody remembering to set them.
Unified Control
One interface for the whole floor instead of a thermostat here, a lighting panel there, and a blind remote lost in a drawer.
Retrofit Pays Back Faster Than People Expect
Occupancy sensing and scheduled setbacks in an existing office typically recover their cost through the utility bill alone, and they can usually go in zone by zone without shutting the floor down. You do not need a new building to get most of the benefit.

Common Questions
Usually yes, though it depends on your lease and the landlord's rules on base-building systems. Tenant-side lighting, blinds, and controls are normally fair game; anything touching central HVAC needs the landlord in the conversation. We will tell you which side of that line each item sits on.
They should be able to. Every automated zone keeps a manual override at the wall, and the schedule simply resumes at the next cycle. Systems that fight their occupants get ripped out.
Most of it happens above the ceiling and in the electrical room, and we phase it zone by zone. Staff typically notice a few evenings of work and the ceiling tiles going back.
It can. Tying the two together means the building can wake up when the first badge scans in the morning and step down when the last person badges out.
